first_imgTRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS–Province Calls for Tenders forPaving Project in HRM Drivers on Highway 102 just north of the Halifax InternationalAirport exit will feel like they’re travelling first class afterthe completion of a paving project announced recently. Nova Scotia Transportation and Public Works has advertised atender for repaving on the northbound lanes of Highway 102 fromExit 6 at the airport, north for 7.2 kilometres to theHalifax/Hants county line. The off ramps at Exit 6 and Exit 7will also be repaved. The total amount of repaving done will be9.4 kilometres. “Highway 102 is one of our busiest highways,” said Ron Russell,Minister of Transportation and Public Works. “This is one ofseveral projects scheduled for this highway in 2005.” The tender will close on Friday, May 13. The Department of Transportation and Public Works’ highwaysdivision manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in NovaScotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincialferries. Staff provide services from district offices inBridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.last_img
