Nadal beats Berdych to win second Wimbledon title

first_imgRafael Nadal claimed his second Wimbledon crown, beating 12th seed Tomas Berdych in straight sets in the final on Centre Court.The world No. 1 has thus won his eighth Grand Slam. The Spaniard has won the French Open five times along with one Australian Open.Berdych, the 6’5 tall Czech, had upset Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic to make the final. But Nadal proved too strong in this 63 75 64 win.Nadal had first won the Wimbledon in 2008 after an epic final with Federer. An injury forced Nadal out of the 2009 Wimbledon, allowing Federer his sixth Grand Slam on grass.last_img
