‘Relentless’ Hull must take their chances, admits Bruce

first_imgHull City Steve Bruce bemoaned his side’s wasteful finishing as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to fellow Premier League strugglers Leicester City. The Tigers had several opportunities to score throughout the match, with Jake Livermore striking the post and Curtis Davies’ effort scrambled clear off of the line. But Bruce admitted his team, who sit 17th in the table, must begin to take their chances.“We’ve had more chances in that game than we’ve probably had all season,” said Bruce. “It’s been chance after chance, it was relentless and it was just one of those awful afternoons where we haven’t done a lot wrong.“They’ve had one shot at goal and scored. We’ve been camped in their half, hit the post and had one cleared off the line.“But if you’re going to be really critical then at this level you’ve got to take one of those chances.“At this level you don’t have five or six or seven like we’ve had today and unfortunately we’ve missed them and that’s been a problem, especially at home.”last_img
