IHG propose free internet for all Rewards Club members from 2014. “Our high quality pipeline, broad geographic spread and fee-based model give us confidence in the outlook, despite the ongoing challenging economic conditions in some of our markets.” IHG hotels worldwide provided free internet for platinum and elite members, with plans to implement an industry-first endeavour and expand the offer to all Rewards Club members in 2014. IHG posted a 7 percent increase in overall revenue to US$936 million and a 20 percent rise in operating profits to US$338 million, as reported in IHG’s first-half results for 2013. The hotels group re-launched its Rewards Club on 1 July 2013, offering a range of enhanced benefits. IHG continued to strengthen its foundation for future growth, signing more than 200 hotels in the first half of 2013; a notable increase on the same period last year. Across Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) RevPAR increased 6.2 percent, while globally RevPAR rose by 3.7 percent in the first half of 2013.
