And this year was an especially important year for the Girl Scouts of the USA. For the first time, you could buy your Tagalongs and Samoas online through the new Digital Cookie program. Christianna and Eula Doele are two Girls Scouts in the Greater Atlanta area. They joined Rose Scott and Denis O’Hayer in the “A Closer Look” studio with their mother, Esther. Both Christianna, a cadet, and Eula, a junior, said they like the online platform for selling cookies.“I like the online because you can definitely reach a different crowd with an online store,” Eula said. She said one different way they sold cookies this year was by reaching out to college students, who might prefer the more convenient internet option. But even with Digital Cookie, the girls noted they still made more sales using the traditional Girl Scout methods: door-to-door and face-to-face marketing.Using both new and old ways of peddling cookies, the girls obtained their Marketing and Cookie CEO badges.
